Bryan Carter, age 60, of Asheville, NC, departed this earthly life on Wednesday, February 18, 2026, surrounded by loved ones. Born on May 21, 1965, in Asheville, NC, Bryan was the son of the late George Carson and the late Emma Lee Carter. He grew up with a deep love for family, community, and the Blue Ridge Mountains to call home.
Bryan graduated from Asheville High School in 1983. Over the years, he built a career in the health care field managing multiple family care facilities where he was known for his strong work ethic, care for his residents, and sense of humor. Those who worked alongside him remember him as someone who could be counted on to lend a hand and brighten even the hardest days.
Outside of work, Bryan cherished time spent with family and friends, whether gathered around the table for birthday parties or a "just cause" barbeque cookout, sharing stories and laughter on the porch.
Left to cherish his memory are:
Sisters Cynthia Carter of Greenville, SC, Evonne Carter Camp (Elton), of Greensboro, NC, and Barbara Carter of Asheville, NC, Brother Reginald Carter of Chicago, IL, Special Aunt Elaine Waters, Stepdaughter Imani Edwards, Special Friend Kimberly Folston, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.
A Memorial Service to honor the life of Bryan will be held on Friday, February 27, 2026, at the River of Life Refreshing Center (826 Haywood Rd), at 3pm.
